Do Teacher Unions like "AFT and "NEA" represent everyone?

For the past two years I have listened to the president of the NEA Union make a speech at their convention.

I'm sorry but if this rhetoric is what represents our teachers and is also taught in our classrooms it is no wonder the United States Educational System is losing ground to other developed nations.

I hope this union President did not teach English or Public Speaking! Perhaps Dwight was a student!!

Say The Word! Say The Word...or is it words.  OK - Dumb Embarrassing Idiot (DEI)!

I have been using the "Quality Educational Partnership Triangle" since 2004. It comes in handy when I talk to teachers and most importantly when I talk to parents about education and what is needed to help their child succeed in school and get ready for college and career planning. All groups must be working together for the student to be successful. If one corner of the triangle fails, the percentage of the student to be successful falls at an alarming rate based on my years of meeting with thousands of students and parents.

It is a very simple concept that relies on each corner (Administrators, Parents, and Teachers) of the triangle to be working together interdependently. The main three groups of the triangle are revolving around the student rather than teachers, parents or administrators.

When outside forces like unions and political groups get involved, they look to their own interests and lose sight of the students (Their focus/purpose). I'm not saying all unios are bad but when they become political and only side with one "school" of thought they themselves become political and do not "teach" all side of the subject.
